public utilities, for measuring the volume either discharged or <br />not discharged into the sewers. <br /> <br /> (e) Bills rendered after July 1, 1954, but applying <br />in part to sewer services rendered prior to that date, shall be <br />prorated, with the new rate applying to sewer services rendered <br />after July 1, and the now-existing rate applying to sewer services <br />rendered before that date. <br /> <br />Section 38-79. <br /> <br />Charge for truck-hauled waste from <br />septic tank, etc. <br /> <br /> Any person who shall discharge any truck-hauled waste <br />taken from any septic tank, cesspool or other sewage container <br />into the sewerage system of the city, shall pay at the time of <br />such discharge the following charges: <br /> <br />3,000 gallons or less ..... [~'~6~66'+ $10.00 <br />Over 3,000 gallons ~ ....... $ 1.50 <br /> for each 500 gallons <br /> in excess of 3,000 gallons <br /> <br />Section 38-82. Sewer line connection fees. <br /> <br /> (a) Where the City of Portsmouth installs sanitary sewer <br />improvements, the director of public utilities shall give notice <br />to affected homeoWners of the availability of sewer line service <br />upon completion of the lines. Homeowners shall then have thirty <br />(30) days from the date of the giving of such notice to apply <br />for a sewer connection and pay the sewer connection fee establish- <br />ed by Section 27-25 of this Code. <br /> <br /> (b) Any homeowner who fails to apply for a sewer con- <br />nection and pay the requisite fee within the time limits establish- <br />ed by subsection (a) shall, if he thereafter seeks to obtain a <br />sewer line connection, pay a sewer line fee of two hundred fifty <br />($250.00) dollars. Such sewer line fee shall be in additionto <br />the sewer connection fee established by Section 27-25 of this <br />Code, ~ <br /> <br /> (c) Where sewers have heretofore been installed by the <br />City of Portsmouth, the director of public utilities shall pro- <br />ceed to give the notice authorized by subsection (a) to the af- <br />fected homeowners. Homeowners who have access to existing lines <br />shall then have until January 1, t975 to apply for a sewer con- <br />nection and pay the fee established by Section 27-25 of this <br />Code° Homeowners having access to existing lines who do not <br />make such application and pay such fee shall thereafter be liable <br />for payment of the sewer line fee in the manner set forth in sub- <br />section (b). <br /> <br />-5- <br /> <br /> <br />
