(2) Landscaping improvements in public areas <br />shall have a landscape plan prepared by a qualified landscape <br />architect. Such plan shall be in character with the aesthetic <br />objectives for the area and shall respect the quality and <br />authenticity of materials to be expected in a historic area. <br /> <br />(3) Parking areas shall: <br /> <br /> (a) Be landscaped in accordance with an <br />approved landscape plan prepared by a aualified landscape <br />architect. ~ ' <br /> <br /> (b) Require landscape treatment of not less <br />than ten (10) percent of parking lot or parcel area. <br /> <br /> (c) Be landscaped with plant material <br />that will provide at full growth, reasonably, distributed <br />shade over not less than twenty-five (25) percent of the park- <br />ing are~. <br /> <br /> (d) Be required to have a planting strip <br />not less than five (5) feet i~ depth adjacent to any walkway <br />and parking area property line. ' <br /> <br /> (e) Be paved with a brick, cobblestone <br />or o{her approved surface material which shall enhance and <br />preserve the aesthetic qualities of the area. Asphalt surface <br />treatment is prohibited. <br /> <br />scape plan. Changes to existing signs, ordered by the commission <br />and based on these regulations shall be carried out within <br />six (6) months of receipt of proper written notice. Such <br />changes shall be at the~ expense, risk and responsibility of <br />the o .wner. Should the owner fail to comply with such notice, <br />the commission may order this v~ork done at the expense, risk <br />and responsibility of the o~er without prejudice~ <br /> <br />-!1- <br /> <br /> <br />
