1975-14 <br /> <br />AN ORDI!,~J~NCE TO A~ND SECTION <br />OF PORTSMOUTH, VIRGINIA, 1973, <br />THE NATIONAL ELECTRICAL CODE, <br /> <br />10-53 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY <br /> PERTAINING TO_ADOPTION OF <br />1975 EDITION. <br /> <br /> BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Ports- <br />mouth, Virginia: <br /> <br /> 1. That Section 10-53 of the Code of the City of <br />Portsmouth, Virginia, 1973 be amended and reordained to read <br />as follows: <br /> <br />Section 10-53. Adopted. <br /> <br /> Ail electrical construction and all material and <br />appliances used in connection with electrical work and the <br />operation of all electrical apparatus within the city shall <br />conform to the rules and requirements of the National Elec- <br />trical Code, 1975 Edition, as amended, adopted by the National <br />Fire Protection Association for the installation of wiring <br />and apparatus for electrical purposes, which rules and re- <br />quirements are hereby adopted and approved and made a part <br />of this Code as fully as if every word were printed herein; <br />provided, that such rules and requirements arenot in con- <br />flict with the laws of the state or the ordinances of the <br />city. <br /> <br /> 2.
