AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND TA~ CODE OF THE CITY OF PORTSMOUTH, VIR- <br />GINIA, 1973, BY ADDING SECTION 24-18.1 THERETO, PERTAINING TO <br />THE APPOINTMENT OF EXOFFICtO MEMBERS TO THE PARKS A~ RECREATION <br />COMMISSION. <br /> <br /> BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Ports- <br />mouth, Virginia: <br /> <br /> 1. That the Code of the City of Portsmouth~ Virginia, <br />1973, be amended by adding Section 24-18.1 thereto, such added <br />section to read as follows: <br /> <br />Section 24-18.1. Exofficio members of the Planning Commission; <br /> appointment. <br /> <br /> The City Council may appoint three (3) exofficio <br />members to the Parks and Recreation Commission who will take <br />part in all activities of said Commission, except that they <br />shall not have the right to vote on any matter. <br /> <br /> One nonvoting member shall be an employee of the <br />School Board of the City of Portsmouth; one nonvoting member <br />shall be an employee of the Portsmouth Redevelopment and Housing <br />Authority; and one nonvoting member shall be an employee of <br />the City of Portsmouth. Each shall qualify as specified in <br />Section 24-18 of the City Code. <br /> <br /> 2o This ordinance shall take effect from the date <br />of its passage~ <br /> <br /> Adopted by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, <br />Virginia, at its meeting held June 10, 1975. <br /> <br />Teste: <br /> <br />City Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />
