(a) Charges for the disposal of sewage discharged into the city sewage system will be based upon the water con- sumed on the premises as measured by meters, used for this purpose at the rate of twenty cents ($0.20) per hundred (1OO) cubic feet. The minimum charge for such services shall be one dollar ($1.00) per month. (b) Charges for the treatment of sewage by the city will be based upon the water consumed on the premises as measured by meters used for this purpose, and shall be at the rate of thirty eight cents ($0.38) per one hundred (100) cubic feet, or 50 2/3 cents ($0.5067) per one thousand (1,000) gallons, for customers within the City of Portsmouth. The minimum monthly charge shall be one dollar and fifty cents ($1.50). For customers outside the City of Portsmouth, the rate shall be thirty-eight cents ($0.38) per one hundred (100) cubic feet, or fifty and two-thirds cents ($0.5067) per one thousand (1,000) gallons. The minimum monthly charge shall be one dollar and fifty cents ($1.50). (c) Char~es for dwelling units in premises with un- metered water conne6tions will be as follows: Sewer service ....................... $3.20 per month Sewage treatment .................... 6.72 per month (d) Minimum charges for premises or groups of premises containing two (2) or more dwelling units served through a single water meter or connection will be determined by multiplying the aforesaid minimum charges by the number of dwelling units so served. (e) Premises not discharging the entire volume of water into the sewers will be allowed a reduction in the charge provided the customer installs facilities satisfactory to the director of public utilities, for measuring the volume either discharged or not discharged into the sewers. (f) Strong waste surcharge- Wastes of domestic, in- dustrial, garbage or other origin discharged into the sewer system and which have characteristics that add unduly to the cost of maintenance and operation will be subject to the follow- ing surcharges: Suspended Solids - For charge of Three ($3.00) will be applied. excess over 300 parts per million a sur- Dollars per one hundred (100) pounds Biochemical Oxygen Demand - For excess over 250 parts per million, a surcharge of Five ($5.00) Dollars per one hundred (100) pounds will be applied.
