AN ORDINANCE TO A/~END THE CODE OF TP~ CITY OF <br />GINIA, 1973, BY ADDItJG TH~ERETO SECTIONS 2-151 <br />PERTAINING TO T__R3tF~IC ENGINEERING. <br /> <br />PORTSMOUTH, VIR- <br />THROUGH 2-153 <br /> <br /> BE IT ORDAINED by ~he Council of the City of Ports- <br />mouth, Virginia, that Sections 2-151 through 2-153 be added to <br />the Code of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, 1973, to read as <br />follows: <br /> <br />Division 3. Traffic Engineer <br /> <br />Section 2-151. Established. <br /> <br /> There is hereby established a department of the City <br />Government known and designated as the Department of Traffic <br />Engineering consisting of the City Traffic Engineer and such <br />other employees as may be provided by ordinance or by orders <br />of the City Manager consistent therewith. <br /> <br />Section 2-152. Appointment. <br /> <br /> The City Traffic Englneer shall be appointed by the <br />City Manager. <br /> <br />Section 2-153. Powers and Duties. <br /> <br /> Subject to the contract and supervision of the City Mana- <br />ger and subject to the provisions of this Code and other ordinances <br />of the City, the City Traffic Engineer shall be charged with the <br />following: <br /> <br />(a) Supervision of traffic engineering and street <br /> lighting. <br /> <br />(b) <br /> <br />Such other powers and duties as may be assigned <br />to the Department of City Traffic Engineering by <br />the City Manager. <br /> <br /> Adopted by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Vir- <br />ginia, at a meeting held August 10, 1976. <br /> <br />Teste: <br /> <br />City Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />
