assignments must be authorized by the Chief of th~ ~epartment, or <br />during his absence or disability, his duly authorized designee. <br />Overtime work shall not be considered special assignment duty. <br /> <br />(d) <br /> <br />Any sworn officer of the Fire or Police Department who, in <br />his official capacity when not on a regular assigned period <br />of duty, is required to appear in Court, shall be paid at <br />the rate of Ten Dollars ($10.00) for the first two hours or <br />portion thereof, and Five Dollars ($5.00) for each subsequent <br />hour or major portion thereof~ <br /> <br />Only those sworn officers whose appearance is necessary to <br />the conduct of the case will be paid under the provisions <br />of this section. Such appearances shall be certified by <br />the Clerk of the Court, the Fire Chief or the Police Chief, <br />respectively, who shall report same to the City Payroll Clerk <br />on such forms and at such times as the Finance Director may <br />prescribe. <br /> <br />(e) <br /> <br />Any sworn officer of the Fire or Police Department who is <br />required to wear civilian clothes in the regular performance <br />of official duties shall be paid an additional Thirty-five <br />Dollars ($35.00) per month as a clothing allowance. This <br />allowance will be paid quarterly commencing with the first <br />fiscal quarter after assignment. <br /> <br />(f) <br /> <br />Sworn personnel in the grades of Police Officer, Police <br />Sergeant, and Police Lieutenant shall receive an allowance <br />in the amount of Fifty Dollars ($50.00) per month as com- <br />pensation for being required to wear a handgun at all times. <br /> <br />(g) <br /> <br />Flight Pay Allowance - Police Department Helicopter Pilots <br />shall receive a flight pay allowance in the ai~ount of One <br />Hundred Dollars ($100.00) per month. <br /> <br />(h) <br /> <br />Police Officers (a maximum total of twelve (12) who serve <br />as Field Training Officers, with the responsibility for <br />training and evaluating probationary and auxiliary Police <br />Officers, shall be paid an additional Thirty-five Dollars <br />($35.00) per month as compensation while assigned to such <br />duty. All assignments to Police Field Training Officers <br />will be approved in advance by the City Manager. <br /> <br />SECTION 12.
