SECTION 9. Part-time Employees.. <br /> <br />Any person employed on a part-time basis shall <br />sation in accordance with Sections two (2) and <br />of this ordinance. <br /> <br />receive compen- <br />fifteen (!5c) <br /> <br />SECTION 10. Overtime - General. <br /> <br />(a) <br /> <br />Except as indicated in section (d) below, eligibility for <br />overtime compensation shall be determined by the Depart- <br />ment Head and the Director of Personnel in accordance with <br />approved personnel practices. <br /> <br />(b) <br /> <br />Ail eligible employees, shall be compensated at a rate of <br />one and one-half times the. straight hourly rate for all <br />hours worked in excess of forty hours in a work week. Ex- <br />cep? in emergency cases, overtime work must be approved in <br />advance by the Department Head before compensation will be <br />granted. <br /> <br />(c) <br /> <br />Any eligible employee who is required to work on a holiday <br />shall be paid for the straight hours worked, plus the normal <br />pay for one day of work. <br /> <br />(d) The City Manager may, at his discretion, authorize payment <br /> for overtime to any employee. <br /> <br />SECTION 11. Overtime and Additional Compensatio~ - <br /> Firefighters and Police Officers. <br /> <br />(a) <br /> <br />Overtime work for sworn officers of the Fire and Police De- <br />partment must be approved in advance by the C~ief of the <br />respective department before compensation will be granted. <br />Emergency cases will be reviewed by the Chief before cQm- <br />pensation is granted. <br /> <br />(b) <br /> <br />The City Manager may, at his discretion, authorize payment <br />for overtime to any sworn officer of the Fire and Police <br />Department. <br /> <br />(c) <br /> <br />Any sworn officer of the Fire and Police Department below <br />the rank of Assistant Chief placed on special assignment <br />duty shall be paid at the rate of $5~00 per hour for the <br />time spent on such duty. Such additional compensation must <br />be entered by the Chief of the Department on the next succeed- <br />ing payroll submitted to the Finance Director. All special <br /> <br /> <br />
