Section 23-503. Same - Safe operation of boats required. <br /> <br /> It shall be unla~m5131 for any person to operate or manipulate any <br />motor boat, tow rope or other device by which the d~rection or location <br />of w~ter skis, surfboards and other similar device may be affected or <br />controlled in such a way as to cause the water skies, suzfboard or other <br />similar device, or any person thereon, to collide with any object or <br />person. <br /> <br /> Any person who violates the provisions of sections 23-500, 23-501, <br />23-502 or this section shall be guilty of a Class 4 misdemeanor. <br /> <br />Section 23-504. Regattas, races, etc. <br /> <br /> The provisions of this article shall not be construed to prohibit <br />regattas, the running of races or exhibitions, during an approved, <br />publicly announced, properly supervised and adequately, patrolled regatta, <br />race, speed trial or exhibition. Written approval for such events frc~ <br />the city manager, pursuant to the rules and regulations of the Coast <br />Guard and cc~mission, and the United States Coast Guard, or frcm the <br />Commission of Game and Inland Fisheries of the cc~monwealth, shall be <br />deemed sufficient evidence of approval. <br /> <br />Section 23-505. Reckless motor boating, water skiing, etc. <br /> <br /> It shall be unlawful for any person to operate any motor boat or <br />other vessel, or to manipulate any water skis, surfbos~d or other <br />s:hnilar device on any of the waters in the city, in a reckless or <br />negligent manner so as to endanger or be likely, to endanger the life, <br />limb or property of any person. <br /> <br />Section 23-506. Operating boats, skis, etc., under influence of <br /> intoxicants prohibited; penalties. <br /> <br /> It shall be unlawful for any person to operate any motor boat or <br />other vessel, or manipulate any water skis, surfboard or other similar <br />device on any of the waters in the city while under the influence of <br />intoxicating beverages or under the influence of any self-administered <br /> <br /> Any person who shall violate any of the provisions of section <br />23-505 or this section shall be guilty of a Class 1 misdemeanor. <br /> <br />Section 23-507. Sunk or abandoned vessels, b~rges, etc.; floating <br /> timbers, logs, etc. <br /> <br /> It shall be unlm~ful for any person voluntarily to sink or abandon, <br />or permit or cause to be sunk or abandoned, any vessel, barge, sco~ or <br />other craft in the waters in the city, or to float loose timbers, logs <br />or o~her debris therein. <br /> <br /> <br />
