BI/i-LDING ACCESSORY. A subordinate building, the use of which is <br />incidental to that of a principal building on the sam~ plot. <br /> <br /> BU]7,DING PRINCIPAL. A building in which is conducted the principal <br />use of the plot on which it is situated. In any residential district <br />any structure containing a dwellLug unit shall be deemed to be the <br />principal building on the plot on which the same is situated. <br /> <br /> BU/T.nING S~.'i'~ACK LINE. A line establishing the minimum allowable <br />distance between the nearest portion of any building, e~xcluding the <br />outermost three (3) feet of any uncovered porches, steps, eaves, gutters <br />and simitar fixtures, and the centerline of any street when measured <br />perpendicularly thereto. <br /> <br /> COF/~ERCIAL USE. Any use permitted by this Chapter in a c~zL~ercial <br />district. <br /> <br /> DESIGNED SHOPPING CEN'±'EE. A retail business development planned as <br />a unit, characterized by groups of retail uses having the cc~mon use of <br />specifically designated off-street areas for access, parking or service. <br /> <br /> I)W~.LTNG UNIT. A single unit providing cc~plete, independent <br />living facilities for one or more persons including permanent provisions <br />for living, sleeping, eating, cooking end sanitation. <br /> <br /> GROUP HOME. A group hc~a shall consist of a facility to provide <br />shelter for at least seven (7) infants under the age of eighteen (18) <br />years who ~are not able to reside in their own hc~es. The group hca~ <br />shall provide adult supervision twenty-four (24) hours per day. The <br />group hc~e shall further provide rehabilitative services approved by the <br />De~t of Institutions of the State of Virginia and sl~ll be licensed <br />by the State of Virginia. <br /> <br /> GROUP HOUSIS~ P~OJECT. A group housing project shall consist of <br />one or more residential structures on a site at least three (3) acres in <br />size where the building arrangement is such that the property caonot be <br />subdivided into conventional streets and lots that reset the requirements <br />of this Chapter and the subdivision Chapter of the City. <br /> <br /> GROUP RESIDENCE. A group residence shall consist of a facility to <br />provide group living accomodations for not less tbsn seven (7) nor more <br />than twenty-four (24) noncriminal persons affected by age, mental health <br />and/or physical disabilities who reside together under the auspices of a <br />public or quasi-public organization devoted to the habitation and social <br />supervision of such persons~ <br /> <br /> <br />
