AN ORDINANCE TO ~ THE CODE OF ~ CITY OF PORTSMOLrt~, VIRGINIA, <br />1973, BY AMENDING SECTION 40-31 THEREOF, PERTAINING TO THE DEFIN±',-ON OF <br />HOUSING FOR THE ErDERLY. <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of tb~ City of Portsmouth, Virginia: <br /> <br /> 1. That Section 40-31 of the Code of the City of Portsmouth, <br />Virginia, 1973, be amended by adding thereto the definition of housing <br />for the elderly to read as follows: <br /> <br />Section 40-31. Definitions. <br /> <br /> Housing for the elderly. Housing for the elderly shall be defined <br />as housing constructed in accordance with the Nationa/ Housing Act, 12 <br />U.S.C. 1701, as amended, and the regulations issued by the Secretary of <br />Housing and Urban Development pursuant thereto. <br /> <br /> 2. That this ordinance shall take effect frc~ the date of its <br />adoption. <br /> <br /> Adopted by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, at a <br />meeting held August 23, 1977. <br /> <br />City Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />
