(S-77-10). WHERFAS, Construction ~Associates, Inc. and Melville Corporation have made application to vacate, close and discontinue the hereinafter described portion of a certain street; and ~, by Resolution of %his Council adopted April 26, 1977, viewers were appointed pursuant to Section 15.1-364, Code of Virginia, 1950, as amended, to view the hereinafter described portion of said street and to report in writing whether in their opinion any, and if any, what inconvenience would result from discontinuing tb~ ~etow described street; and ~, the said viewers have reported in writing that in their opinion no inconvenience would result from the closing and discontinuing of said street. ~DW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of mouth, Virginia, that that portion of said street hereinafter described, be closed and vacated as a public street: POTCbIAC AV~XrO E Potomac Avenue (formerly called Avenue) as shown on the plat of Virginia Realty end Investment Ccmpany~ which plat is reoDrded in the Clerk's Office of the Circuit Court of the City of Chesapeake, Virginia, in Map Book 7, at pages 98~ 99 and 100, with the area of said street to be closed being bounded on the north by the southern right of way of Col~mbia Street and on the south by the nozthern right of way of South Street. BE IT ~ ORDAINED t~hat the same is hereby closed and vacated as a public street, that the City of Portsmouth reserves unto itself perpetual easements, rights, and privileges to install, maintain, operate e=nd replace sewer drains, sewer mains, sanitary sewers and electric power lines within, over, under and across those portions of Potomac Avenue heretofore described.
