In no case shall the operation of %his section <br />result in a reduction in the amount of any person's total <br />amount below the amount of the retirement allowance that <br />would have been payable in the absence of this section. <br /> <br /> (b) For any person who continues employment beyond <br />his normal retirement age, and who subsequently qualified for <br />a retirement allowance as provided under Section 31-62, such <br />allowance shall be adjusted by any percentage that may <br />have been authorized as provided in paragraph (a) of this <br />Section during the interim between the person's normal re- <br />tirement age and his effective date of retirement allowance. <br /> <br />Section 31-118(b). <br /> <br /> {b) Should any person terminate service as an employee <br />other than by retirement under the provisions of this article, <br />after he has completed the n~mber of years of creditable <br />service required for entitlement to benefits under Section <br />30-148; and should such person at any time again become an <br />employee, any benefits becoming payable ~nder the provisions <br />of this article shall be determined on the basis of the total <br />creditable years of service combined for all such periods of <br />employment. <br /> <br /> 2.
