AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND THE CODE OF THE CITY OF PORTSMOUTHf VIRGINIA, 1973, BY AMENDING SUBSECTION 118.12 OF SECTION 6-8 THEREOF, PERTAINING TO CHARGES FOR SE~R CONNECTION. BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia: 1. That the Code of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, 1973, be amended and reordained to read as follows: Section !18.12. Charges for se~wer connections~-Generally: When connection is made with the City sewer, the following charges shall be made for each connection in addition to the fee schedule set forth in Section llS.11(a and (a) Residential: (1) Single-family residence ........... $150.OO (2) Multi-family buildings: For the first dwelling ........... 150~00 Additional unit~ each ............ 75~00 (3) Row or townhouses: Each building unit ............... 150~00 (b) Commercial and industrial: (1) Commercial and industrial buildings: First connection to each such building .................... 150.O0 (2) For hotelsr motels, motor courts and like structures ......... i50~00 For each room for rent in each building plus .............. 25~OO (c) Trailer parks: (i) Trailer parks shall pay connection charges in accordance with the schedule set forth in paragraph (a) (2) above: (d) General: (i) When a building has been removed from a site, the appropriate charge will be made whenever the new connection is made. This will apply to any connection whether or not it has been in use before. Provided, if such connection has been in use before and ~he replacement building does not increase the use capacity of the City sewer, no new sewer connection fee will be charged.
