(d) Minimum Wage Adjustments <br /> <br /> If the starting salary for a given grade is below the <br />minimum wage employees at such starting salary will receive <br />a minimum wage pay supplement. The purpose of this supple- <br />ment is to insure that every supplemented employee's salary <br />equals minimum wage. Salaries to the left of the diagonal <br />line on the Pay Schedules are those steps which are below <br />the prevailing minimum wage as of July I, 1979. <br /> <br /> The employee's minimum wage pay supplement will be ad- <br />justed (increased or decreased) in accordance with salary <br />changes under this section of the Pay and Classification <br />Plan. When a minimum wage pay supplement is ao longer <br />necessary to maintain the employee at salary rate equal to <br />the minimum wage level, the supplement will be terminated. <br /> <br /> Employees will be hired' at the proper grade and step <br />accordance with the applicable Sections of this Pay and <br />Classification Plan. <br /> <br />in <br /> <br />(e) Administrative Salary Adjustments <br /> <br /> The <br />trative <br />are not <br /> <br />City Manager retains the authority to make adminis- <br />salary adjustments.
