designating the conditions of use or identity <br />of such parking area and limited to a maximum <br />size of nine square feet, shall be permitted. <br />On a corner lot two such signs, one facing <br />each street, shall be permit%ed. <br /> <br />Projection. No sign shall project beyond the <br />property line into the public way. <br /> <br />Height. No sign shall project higher than ten <br />feet above curb level and in the location where <br />pedistrian movement is expected, clearance of <br />7' between the top of the oavement to the bottom <br />of the sign shall be provided. <br /> <br />(7) "For Sale" and "To Rent" signs: <br /> <br />Area and Number. There shall be not more than <br />one such sign per zoning lot; except that on a <br />corner zoning lot two signs, one facing each <br />street, shall be permit%ed. No sign shall <br />exceed twelve square feet in area nor be closer <br />than eight feet to any other <br /> <br />Projection. Such sign shall be affixed flat <br />against the wall of the building. <br /> <br />Height. No sign shall project higher than one <br />story or fifteen feet above c~rb level, whichever <br />is lower. <br /> <br />Section 40-123. <br /> <br />Approval of plans prior to issuance of a <br />building permit. <br /> <br /> Before any modification, alteration, reconstruction, <br />construction, repair, maintenance activity, including painting <br />of an outer wall or part of a building or structure which are <br />subject to public view from a public street, public way or other <br />public place, occurs in the Downtown D-1 District, the plans <br />therefor~ shall be reviewed by the Planning Commission. Whenever <br />any person shall apply for a building permit in such area, the <br />building official shall forthwith transmit a copy of the plans <br />to the Planning Commission for review. Such plans shall be <br />reviewed by the Planning Commission at its next regular meeting <br />unless the Commission shall set it down for review at a special <br />meeting. The failure of the Commission to review such plans <br />within sixty days (60) from the date of the application for <br />the building permit, shall be deemed to constitute approval of <br />the plans as submitted, and the building official shall issue <br />the permit provided the work to be done under the permit complies <br />with the requirements of the building code and other ordinances <br />and laws applicable or relating thereto. <br /> <br /> <br />
