(c) <br /> <br />(d) <br /> <br />(4) <br /> <br />Or otherwise mounted so that the backs of all <br />signs or sign structures showing to public <br />view shall be painted and maintained a neutral <br />color or a color that blends with surrounding <br />environment. <br /> <br />Ail signs within the Downto~n D-1 District shall be <br />maintained by the owner, the operator of business such <br />as the store manager and the tenants or lessee in good <br />repair, free of cracks or peeling of paints or missing <br />of alphabet or such other defects including~ but not <br />limited to, the fading of paint and deterioration of <br />background surface of such signs° <br /> <br />The following non-flashing, indirectly illuminated signs <br />are permitted under the conditions specified. Indirect <br />lighting shall be by reflector method, placed back of <br />building line, and so erected that the light source is <br />not visible from outside the premises. <br /> <br />(1) Retail Business Signs: <br /> <br />Area. The gross area in square feet of all <br />on a zoning lot shall not exceed the lineal <br />feet of frontage of such zoning lot. ~ere <br />more than two signs are provided, each add- <br />itional sign erected shall reduce the total <br />allowable area by twenty percent. <br /> <br />b. Projection. No such sign shall project more <br /> than eighteen inches into the public way. <br /> <br />Co <br /> <br />Height. No sign shall project higher than one <br />story or fifteen feet above the curb level, <br />whichever is lowerr except the signs mounted <br />flat against a building or wall. <br /> <br />(2) Professional Offices or Studio Signs: <br /> <br />Area and Number. There shall be not more than <br />one sign per lot; except, that on a corner lot, <br />two signs, one facing each street, shall be <br />permitted. No sign shall exceed two square feet <br />in area nor be closer than five feet to any other <br />zoning lot. <br /> <br />b. Projection. No sign shall project beyond the <br /> property line into the public way. <br /> <br />Height. No sign shall project higher than one <br />story or fifteen feet above the curb level, which- <br />ever is lower. <br /> <br /> <br />
