Ingrade Progression may be withheld from employees <br />by the Department Head upon submission of two (2) Unsatis- <br />factory Performance Evaluations to the employee. One Per- <br />formance Evaluation must have been conducted prior ~to, and one <br />subsequent to, three months before the employee becomes eligible <br />for the Ingrade Progression. <br /> <br /> Any non-probationary employee whose performance is <br />such that Ingrade Progression is withheld for two consecutive <br />years, will be demoted or terminated. <br /> <br />(c) Longevity Increases. <br /> <br /> Steps L(1) and L(2) are included in the Pay Plan <br />solely for the purpose of recognizing service attainment by <br />City employees. The specific years of service recognized will <br />be ten (iO) years~ and fifteen (15) years, (Steps L(1) and <br />L(2) respectively in the Pay Schedule). <br /> <br /> Advancement to the first Longevity step, L(1), will <br />be contingent upon the attainment of at least ten (10) years <br />of service and completion of at least one year in the G or <br />G(t) steps. Advancement to the second Longevity step, L(2)~ <br />will be contmngent upon the attainment of at least fifteen <br />(15) years of service and completion of at least one year in <br />the L(1) step. <br /> <br /> Employees who are currently in the G, G(t), or L(1) <br />steps, but lack the required years of service will remain on <br />that step until the required years of service have been com- <br />pleted. <br /> <br />(d) Minim~ Wage Adjustments. <br /> <br /> If thc starting salary for a given grade is below <br />the mlnim,~m wage employees at ~uch starting salary will <br />receive a minimum wage pay supplement. The purpose of this <br />supplement is to insure that every supplemented employee's <br />salary equals minimum wage'. Salaries to the left of the <br />diagonal line on the Pay Schedules are those steps which <br />are below the prevailing minimum wage as of July 1, 1980. <br /> <br /> The employee's minimu~ wage pay supplement will be <br />adjusted (increased or decreased) in accordance with salary <br />changes under this section o~ the Pay and Classification Pith. <br />When a minim~mm wage pay supplement is no longer necessary %o <br />maintain the employee at salary rate equal to the minim~ wage <br />level, the supplement will be terminated. <br /> <br /> <br />
