Employees will be hired at the proper grade and <br />step in accordance with the applicable Sections of this <br />Pay and Classification Plan. Those employees whose salary <br />includes a minimu~ wage supplement shall only receive an <br />Ingrade Progression increase if such step movement exceeds <br />the current minimum wage. <br /> <br />(e) Administrative Salary Adjustments. <br /> <br /> The City Manager retains <br />administrative salary adjustments° <br />but are not limited to: <br /> <br />the authority to make <br /> These adjustments mnclude, <br /> <br />(1) Performance recognition, positive or negative. <br /> <br />(2) Approval of departmental requests for special <br /> salary actions; positive or negative. <br /> <br />(3) Correction of verified errors in application of <br /> the Pay Plan. <br /> <br />(~f) Application. <br /> <br /> The Director of Personnel is responsible for appli- <br />cation of the Compensation and Salary Adjustment Section as it <br />relates to the three parts of this Pay Plan. <br /> <br />(1) Regulations For Administration. <br /> <br />(2) Classes of Positicns Assmgned to Pay Grades. <br /> <br />(3) Pay Schedules. <br /> <br /> This responsibility includes clarification and resolution <br />of any problem or questions not specifically covered by the <br />Classification and Pay Plan. <br /> <br />Section 5. Allowances. <br /> <br /> The rate of pay set forth in this schedule shall be deemed <br />to include the full compensation of the employee. However, the <br />value of any allowances ~ade to the employee by the City shall <br />also be considered a part of total compensation. <br /> <br />Section 6. <br /> <br />New Employee. <br /> <br /> Ail new employees are probationary for one year and shall <br />receive compensation according to %he classification in which they <br />are placed. No new employee may be placed in a transitional <br />step in this Pay Plan. t <br /> <br /> <br />
