AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND SECTION 40-48(3) (c) OF THE CODE OF <br />THE CITY OF PORTSMOUTH, VIRGINIA, 1973, PERTAINING TO <br />CONSTRUCTION REQUIRE~ENTS FOR INTERNAL DRAINAGE IN PARKING <br />LOTS. <br /> <br /> BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the ~ity of Ports- <br />mouth, Virginia: <br /> <br /> 1. That Section 40-48(3) (c) of the Code of the City <br />of Portsmouth, Virginia, 1973, be amended and reordained <br />to read as follo%~s: <br /> <br />Section 40-48(3). Cons%ruction requirements for improvements. <br /> <br /> (c) Internal drainage is required for parking lots <br />where the City Engineer considers sufficient room to exist <br />for ten (10) or more parked cars in s~andard configuration <br />and where~ in the opinion of the City Engineer, the com- <br />bination of rooftop area and parking lot area will cause <br />sufficient storm water runoff to warrant the requirement. <br />Internal drainage is defined to cover all storm water run- <br />off within the property to be developed. This includes <br />rooftops and parking areas. Only the concrete a~ron be- <br />tween the property line and the curb is allowed to fall to <br />the street. Catch basins shall be provided in all parking <br />areas beyond the street right-of-way and storm drainage <br />pipe shall extend to the nearest dra'inage facility of <br />sufficient capacity as provided under the terms of the <br />Off-site Drainage Ordinance. <br /> <br /> 2. This ordinance shall take effect from the date of <br />its adoption. <br /> <br /> Adopted by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, <br />Virgmnia, at a meeting held August 26, 1980. <br /> <br />Teste: <br /> <br />City Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />
