~laces actively being constructed or renovated by public or <br />private owners or the agent, employees or contractors thereof. <br /> <br /> DIRECTOR: The word "director" shall mean the director of <br />public works of the City or his authorized representative. <br /> <br /> DWELLING: The word "dwelling" shall mean any building <br />which is wholly or partly used or intended to be used for <br />living or sleeping by human occupants. <br /> <br /> DWELLING UNIT. The term "dwelling unit" shall mean ~ny <br />room or group of rooms located within a dwelling and forming <br />a single habitable unit with facilities which are used or <br />intended to be used for living, sleeping, cooking and eating. <br /> <br /> INDUSTRIAL WASTE: The term "industrial waste" shall in- <br />clude building material waste resulting from erecting, removing, <br />repairing, remodeling or razing buildings; ashes from boilers, <br />incinerators, or other trash or matter originating in a busi- <br />ness or manufacturing establishment intended no~ for use or <br />sale. <br /> <br /> OPERATOR: The word "operator" is the person, firm corpo- <br />ration or association operating any business or industrial <br />establishment as defined herein, as distinguished from the <br />owner of the premises invotved~ <br /> <br /> HAZARDOUS WASTES: The term "hazardous waste" shall mean <br />those wastes that can cause serious injury or disease during <br />the normal storage, collection or disposal process, including, <br />but not limited to, flamable, explosive, pathlogical or infectious <br />wastes, radioactive materials and dangerous chemicals. <br /> <br />Section 14-21. Bulk refuse. <br /> <br /> Bulk refuse as defined'herein shall be picked up from <br />residential dwellings at such time, .and in accordance with <br />such procedures as may be established by the director of <br />public works. Such items shall not be placed for collection <br />as ~art of the regular collection process for garbage, trash <br />or refuse. Tree branches, tree limbs, parts of trees, bushes, <br />shrubbery and cuttings or clippings and the like, which cannot <br />be placed in receptacles or refuse bags as required under <br />Section 14-24(c), shall be cut into lengths of four (4') feet <br />or less and stacked neatly at curbside in a pile not to <br />exceed a total quantity of one (1) cord (4' x 4' x 8') each <br />month. It shall be the responsibility of the o~er or <br />tenant of the premises involved to remove all tree trim~ings, <br />cuttings, shrubbery and the like that do not meet these <br />specifications or those contained in Section 14-24(c). Tree <br />and shrubbery branches, limbs and trimmings cut by landscape <br />or tree service contractors will not be collected by ~he <br />City. Bulk refuse shall not be collected by the City from <br />business and commercial establishments, including multi- <br />family residential complexes. <br /> <br /> <br />
