1982-63 <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE CLOSING A PORTION OF A 20' FOOT ALLEY ON THE <br />EASTERN SIDE OF MARINER AVENUE. <br /> <br /> WHERF2~S, the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, has made <br />application to vacate, close and discontinue the hereinafter- <br />described portion of a certain alley; and <br /> <br /> W~_EREAS, by Resolution of this Council adopted May 25, <br />1982, viewers were appointed pursuant to Section 15.1-364, <br />Code of Virginia, t950, as amended, to view the hereinafter- <br />described portion of said alley and to report in writing <br />whether Un their opinion any, and if any, what inconvenience <br />would result from discontinuing the said alley; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the said viewers have reported in writing <br />that in their opinion no inconveniencewould result in the <br />closing and discontinuing of said alley. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED. by the Council of the <br />City of Portsmouth, Virginia, that the hereinafter-described <br />portion of a certain 20' alley on the eastern side of Mariner <br />Avenue be closed and vacated as a public street. <br /> <br />S-82-6 <br /> <br /> A twenty foot (20') portion of an alley which <br />is located on the eastern side of Mariner Avenue <br />(fo_v/nerly Fourth Avenue)' beginning at a point on <br />the eastern side of Mariner Avenue, said point <br />being the point of intersection of the southern <br />boundary of Lot 309 as shown on the plat of ~est <br />Norfolk and the Eastern boundary of Mariner Avenue; <br />and thence east one hundred feet (1OO') along the <br />southern boundary of. said lot 309 to the true <br />point of beginning; thence east and parallel <br />with Broadway Street one hundred fifty feet (150') <br />to a point; thence north and parallel with Mariner <br />Avenue twenty feet (20'); to a point; thence <br />west and parallel with Broadway Street one hundred <br />fifty feet (150') to a point; thence south and <br />parallel with Marinex Avenue twenty feet (20') <br />to the point of beginning. <br /> <br /> Adopted by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, <br />at a meeting held June 22, 1982. <br /> <br />Teste: <br /> <br />City Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />
