Section 38-42. <br /> <br />Payment of Bills Generally. <br /> <br /> Ail bi-monthly accounts shall be billed on a cycle <br /> <br />shall be billed on a cycle of approximately thirty (30) <br />days. Bills for water supplied in each division, including <br />charges for selvage disposal service, refuse disposal <br />service, and utility taxes based thereon, if any, are <br />due and payable upon presentation. <br /> <br /> If the payment is not received by the due date set <br />forth on such ball, a late charge of one and one-half (1-1/2) <br />per cent per month will be added to such bill. If such bill <br />is not paid within fifteen (15) days from said due date, <br />the service may be discontinued without further notice. <br /> <br /> Payment of such bills shall be made at the office of <br />the Department of Public Utilities on the days and during <br />the hours thereof the office is open for business, or such <br />payment may be made at any collection agency established <br />by the Director of Public Utilities,for that purpose on <br />the days and during the hours thereof such collection agencies <br />are open for business. <br /> <br /> Payment of such bills at collection agencies and <br />regulations and accounting procedures pertaining thereto <br />shall be as prescribed by the Director of Public UtilitiEs. <br />Each collection agency shall be bonded in the amount of two <br />thousand dollars f$2,OO0.00) and the bond and contract of <br />appointment shall be approved as to form by the City Attorney. <br /> <br />2o This ordinance shall take effect on July I, 1983. <br /> <br /> Adopted by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, <br />at a meeting held May 4, 1983. <br /> <br />Tests: <br /> <br />City Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />
