AN ORDINA/~CE TO AMEND THE CODE OF THE CITY OF PORTSMOUTH, <br />VIRGINIA, 1973, By AMENDING SECTION 40-102 ~BI PERTAINING <br />TO HISTORIC DISTRICT AND SUBDIST~ICT BUILDING REGULATIONS. <br /> <br /> BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, <br />Virginia: <br /> <br /> 1.- That Section 40-102 ~B) be amended to read as follows: <br /> <br /> CB) Historic Residential: <br /> <br /> The following regulations shall apply to the Historic <br />Residential Subdistrict and to all structures used only for <br />residential purposes located in the Historic Limited Office <br />Subdistrict. In Cradock, requirements applicable to the resi- <br />dential R-75 Zoning District as prescribed shall continue to <br />apply. Historic Residential HR as applicable to Olde Towne <br />shall apply t~ Port Norfolk Historic District in all aspects <br />other than the exceptions and special conditions provided for <br />herein. Purthermore, conversion shall be permitted under-a <br />use permit provision in the Port Norfolk Historic District as <br />provided for in subparagraph (10) herein. <br /> <br /> ~1) Uses shall be limited to single, duplex or multi-family <br />dwellings. <br /> <br /> C2} N~thing within this subsection (B) shall be construed <br /> as limiting, regulating or preventing the restoration, rehabili- <br /> tation, alteration or repair of buildings existing on October <br /> 24, 1967, the date of the original establis.hment of the Historic <br /> District, unless such limitation is expressly provided for <br /> herein. <br /> <br /> ~) Newly constructed buildings, structures and improve- <br />ments or newly constructed additions to existing buildings <br />shall not exceed three (3) stories in height. <br /> <br /> ~4~ New buildings, additions to existing buildings or <br />existing buildings to be remodeled to increase the number of <br />dwellin~ units therein may be erected or so remodeled only <br />on lots or parcels which conform to the following schedule: <br /> <br /> Minimum <br />Building Type Lot Size in Square Peet <br />Single family ........................................ 2,000 <br /> <br />Duplex ....................... [..~...~... 2,500 <br />Three ~i ~ ~ore ~ ~i~ ~it~ ...... <br /> we ......... 4,500 <br /> <br /> <br />
