AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND SECTION 23-206, OF THE CODE OF THE <br />CITY OF PORTSMOUTH, VIRGINIA, 1973, PERTAINING TO MOTOR <br />VEHICLE PARKING. <br /> <br /> BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, <br />Virginia: <br /> <br /> 1. That Section 23-206 of the Code of the City of <br />Portsmouth, Virginia, 1973, be amended to read as follows: <br /> <br />Section 23-206. Parking at curb. <br /> <br /> (a) No vehicle shall be stopped except close to and <br />parallel to the righthand edge of curb or bhe roadway, <br />except that a vehicle may be stopped close to and parallel <br />to the lefthand curb or edge of the roadway on one-way <br />streets or may be parked at an angle where permitted by the <br />City Manager. No vehicle shall be oarked or stopped with <br />any of its wheels on or over the curb. <br /> <br /> (b) The provisions of Subsection (a) shall not apply <br />to any vehicle owned or controlled by the State Dep~rtment' <br />of Highways or the City, while actually engaged in the <br />construction, reconstruction or maintenance of highways. <br /> <br /> Adopted by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, <br />Virginia, at a meeting held on September 27, 1983. <br /> <br />Teste: <br /> <br />City Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />
