RESOLUTION ~I4EREAS, the Portsmouth Redevelopment and Housing Authority (herein called the "Authority") is engaged in the development and management of low- rent housing in the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, (herein called the "City") in accordance with the Virginia Housing Authorities Law; and WHEREAS, the Authority entered into an Annual Contributions Contract under date of July 30, 1956 with the Public Housing Administration under the terms of which, as amended. Federal assistance is being and will be extended for the development of 240 low-rent housing units in the City of Portsmouth designated as Project VA 1-7 which is needed particularly in connection with the urban renewal projects of the Authority; and WHERKiS, the City Council of the City has heretofore approved and executed a Cooperation Agreemen~ covering the development and management of such housing; and WHERK~S the Authority with the knowledge of the City Council acquired a site for said Project in 1958: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council o~ the City of Ports- mouth as follows: That the construction by the Authority of Project VA 1-7, consisting of approximately 240 low-rent housing units on a site generally bounded as follows, is hereby authorized and approved: Ail of those certain lots, pieces or parcels of land, situate in the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, and bounded and described as follows: Beginning at a point on the southwest intersection of Race Street and Washington Street, and from said point of beginning running along the west side of Washington Street S 3 degrees 29' 32" E. 544°00' to a point~ which is the southwest inter- section of Washington Street and Duke Street; thence along the south side of Duke Street S 87 degrees 10' 28" We 255.00' to a point; thence S 3 degrees 29' 32" E. 226000' to a point on the North side of Brighton Street; thence along the North side of Brighton Street S 87 degrees [0' 28" W0 165o00' to a point; which is the northwest intersection of Brighton Street and Green Street: thence along the west side of Green Street S 3 degrees 29' 32" E0 258~00' to a point, which is the northwest inter- section of Green Street and Randolph Street; thence along the North side of Randolph Street S 87 degrees 10' 28" W. 360.00' to a point, which is the northeast intersection of Randolph Street and Effingham Street; thence along the east side of Effingham Street N 3 degrees 29' 32" W. 77Oo00' to a point, which is the southeast intersection of Effingham Street and Scott Street; thence along the south side of Scott Street N 87 degrees 10' 28" Eo 105.00'; thence N 3 degrees 29' 32" W 145o00' to a point; thence N 87 degrees 10' 28" E 150.00' to a point; thence N 3 degrees 29' 32" w 113o00' to a point~ which is on the south side of Race Street; thence along the South side of Race Street N 87 degrees 10' 28" E 525.00' to the southwest intersection of Race Street and Washington Street, the point of beginning,
