WHEREAS, the application of Portsmouth General Hospital, Inc., and <br />others to vacate, close and discontinue those portions of Fort Lane from <br />Leckie Street north to Naval Avenue and Jackson Street from the now exist- <br />ins Fort Lane east for a distance of one hundred five (105) feet= has been <br />referred to the Planning and Zoning Commission for investiEation and report, <br />and said Commission has recommended the closinE of the said portions of <br /> <br />Fort Lane and Jackson Street, and it appearing that notice of the application <br />and request for the appointment of viewers was duly posted at the front door <br />of the Court House on the first day of the July Term of the Court of Hustings <br />for the City of Portsmouth, and on the VEPCO pole at the northeast inter- <br />section of Jackson Street and Fort Lane and on the C & P pole at the northwest <br />intersection of Fort Lane and Leckie Street, at least five days prior To this <br />meeting; <br /> <br /> NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, <br />Virginia, ~hat <br /> <br /> and <br />, be appointed v~ewers to view said streets <br />and report to this Council in writinc whether in their opinion, any, and if <br />any, what inconvenience would result from discontinuing the aforementioned <br />portions of Fort Lane and Jackson Street. <br /> <br /> <br />
