RESOLUTION FOR APPOINTING V/JB~RS FOR CLOSING <br />CROSS STRE~f AND A PORTION OF PH~LLIPINE ~ <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Sweetbriar Development Corporation has made application <br />to vacate and close the hereinafter described portions of cross and <br />Phillipine Streets located in the Hattonsvi!le area and it appearing <br />that notice of the application and request for the appointment of <br />viewers ~s duly posted on October 23, 1968, on the bulletin board <br />of the Court of Hustings for the City of Portsmouth, on the bulletin <br />board of the Circuit Court of the City of Portsmouth, and on the <br />bulletin board of the Municipa~ Court of the City of Portsmouth. <br /> <br /> NOW, 514~R~0RE, BE tT RESOLVED, by the Council of the City of <br />Portsmouth, Virginia, that Graydon D. Meginley, James V. McGehee, <br />L. A. Clark, Loyed W. Gardner and Zolman I. Blackmon be appointed <br />viewers to view the hereinafter described portions of Cross and <br />Philtipine Streets ~_nd report to this Council in writing whether <br />in their opinion s~y, and if any, what inconvenience would result <br />from vacating and closing the following portions of the specified <br />stmeet. <br /> <br /> 1. Phillipir~s Street beginning at a point which lies 204.22 <br />feet, more or less, in a southwesterly direction from the intersection <br />of the centerlines of Ponderosa (formerly Lincoln) Street and Phillipine <br />Street; running thence along the entire width of Phillipine Street in <br />a southwesterly direction to its terminus; <br /> <br /> 2. Cross Street from its beginning on the eastern side of <br />Phillipine Street thence running northeasterly to its terminus at <br />the right-of-ray of the Seaboard Coastline Railroad. <br /> <br /> Adopted by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, at <br />a meeting held November 12, 1968. <br /> <br />Teste: <br /> <br />City Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />
