RESOLUTION FOR APPOINTING VIEWERS FOR CLOSING A PORTION OF THIRD <br />AND SEVI~ffH STRaiTS IN CHURCHIAND. <br /> <br /> WP~EREAS, Creed Miniard, Wilson B. Spruitl and Charles E. <br />Russell have made application to vacate and close ~the hereinafter <br />described portions of Third and Seventh Streets located in the <br />Churchland area and it appearing that notice of the application <br />and request for the appointment of viewers was duly posted on <br />September 18, 1968, on the bulletin board of the Circuit Court <br />of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, and at two public places <br />within the City of Portsmouth, .Virginia, namely: at the inter- <br />section of Tyre Neck Road and Third Street and at the intersection <br />of Tyre Neck Road and Seventh Street. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, ~E IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City <br />of Portsmouth, Virginia, that John G. Tynch, Euclid M. Hanbury, <br />L. C. Doughtie, W. O. Scott and C~rl E. Bowers be appointed <br />viewers to view the hereinafter described portions of Third and <br />Seventh Streets and report to this Council in writing whether in <br />their opinion any, and if any, what inconvenience would result from <br />vacating and closing the following portions of the specified streets: <br /> <br /> 1. Third Street from the west side of Tyre Neck Road in a <br />westerly direction 475 feet more or less to its terminus at the <br />eastern right-of-~Ry of the Norfolk, Franklin and Danville Railroad; <br />said portion of Third Street separates Blocks 19 and 20 on the Plat <br />of Churchland Land Company. <br /> <br /> 2. Seventh Street from the east side of Tyre Neck Road in an <br />easterly direction 405 feet more or less to its terminus in a swamp. <br /> <br /> Adopted by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia~ <br />at a meeting held October 8, 1968. <br /> <br />City Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />
