65 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION COMMENDING THE AM~ERICA~ JUNIOR <br />BOWLING CONGRESS NATIONAL DUCKPIN CHAMPION- <br />SHIP TEAM FROM PORTSMOUTH. <br /> <br />won the <br />ship in <br /> <br /> WHEREAS~ the Portsmouth Jaycees bowling <br />American Junior Bowling Congress National <br />the Junior Boys' Division at a tournament <br /> <br />team has recently <br />Duckpin Champion- <br />held in WaShington, <br /> <br /> WHE.REAS, this outstanding national sports achievement was <br />aceomplished through the brilliant performance of ream members Bert <br />Sumner, Jimmy Boswell, Ricky Sirico, Donnie Johnson~ Denny Burris <br />and Coach Herbert Ripiey of the Portsmouth Jaycees Bowling Team. <br /> <br /> WPHEREAS, such achievements furnish an extraordinary eMam~le_. <br />for this City's young people and encourage similar achievements by <br />other Portsmouth youth. <br /> <br /> '~ NOW, THEREFORE~ BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City <br />of Portsmouth, Virginia, that the Portsmouth Jaycees Championship <br />Bowling Team be hereby commended on behalf of the citizens of this <br />City for their achievements <br /> <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Portsmouth Jaycees Champion- <br />ship Bowling Team be extended on behalf of the citizens of the City <br />every wish of success in their future endeavors. <br /> <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED ~hat a copy of this resolution be <br />spread upon the minutes of this Council and that a copy be ~resented <br />to the coach and each member of the team. <br /> <br /> Adopted by She Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, <br />at a meeting held August 25, 197-0. <br /> <br />Teste: <br /> <br />City Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />
