A P~ESOLUTION CO~iENDING MISS E~',Z~A JE~NE MORRISON, <br />MISS BLACK VIRGINIA FOR 1970. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Miss Emma Jeane Morrison, Miss Black Portsmouth, <br />has recently won the title of Miss Black Virginia in the Miss Black <br />Virginia Pageant; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS~ Miss Morrison has distinguished herself a~d her <br />family by winning the title of Miss Black Virginia while completing <br />with seventee~ other contestants from all regions of the Commonwealth <br />of Virginia; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS~ such achievement furnishes an extraordinary example <br />for the young women of this City and encourages similar achievements <br />by-other young women of Portsmouth. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE~ BE IT R~SOLVED by the Council of the City <br />of Portsmouth~ Virginia~ vhat Miss Morrisom be hereby commended on <br />behalf of~the citizens of this City for her achievements. <br /> <br />behalf <br />coming <br /> <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that Miss Morrison be extended on <br />of the citizens of the City every wish of success in the forth- <br />Miss Black America Pageant and in her future endeavors. <br /> <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution be <br />spread upon the minutes of this Counci2 and that a copy Be presented <br />to Miss Emma Jeane Morrison. <br /> <br /> Adopted by the Council of the City of Portsmouth~ Virginia~ <br />at a meeting held Augusv 25, 1970. <br /> <br />Teste: <br /> <br />City Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />
