RESOLUTION APPOINTING VIEWERS FOR CLOSING OF A PORTION OF BARCLAY <br />AVENUE (FORMERLY ROSE AVENUE) FOR A DISTANCE OF APPROXIMATELY 130 <br />FEET WEST OF THE NORTHWEST INTERSECTION OF BARCLAY AVENUE AND <br />GEORGE WASHINGTON HIG~AY. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Margaret C. Boze has made application to <br />vacate and close the hereinafter described portion of a certain <br />street and it appearing that notice of the application and re- <br />quest for the appointment of viewers was duly posted on 'Novem- <br />ber 11, 1971, on the bulletin board of the Court of Hustings <br />for the City of Portsmouth, on the bulletin board of the Cir- <br />cuit Court of the City of Portsmouth, and on the bulletin board <br />of the Municipal Court, Civil Division, of the City of Ports- <br />mouth, Virginia. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the <br />City of Portsmouth, Virginia, that Louis J. Leitner, James V. <br />McGehee, Zalmon I. Blachman, James Choate and F. J. Bergeron, <br />be appointed viewers to view the hereinafter described portion <br />of such street and report to this Council in writing whether <br />in their opinion any, and if any, what inconvenience would <br />result from vacating and closing the following: <br /> <br /> ALL THAT PORTION OF BARCLAY AVENUE (formerly Rose <br />Avenue), beginning at the Northwest Intersection of Barclay <br />Avenue and George Washington Highway, and running in a wester- <br />ly direction along the North side of Barclay Avenue 129.48 <br />feet to an iron pipe; thence South and perpendicular to the <br />North side of Barclay Avenue 20 feet, more or less, to the <br />South side of Barclay Avenue; thence East along the South side <br />of Barclay Avenue 120 feet, more or less, to the West side of <br />George Washington Highway. <br /> <br /> Adopted by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, <br />yirglnla, at a meeting held November 23~ 1971. <br /> <br />Teste: <br /> <br />City Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />
