A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS AND AUTHORIZING <br />THE EXECUTION OF AN AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITIES OF CHESAPEAKE, <br />NORFOLK, PORTSMOUTH AND VIRGINIA BEACH RELATING TO INTERCITY <br />POLICE COOPERATION AND JURISDICTION. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Section 15.1-131.3 of the Code of Virginia, <br />1950, authorized municipalities to enter into police coopera- <br />tion agreements; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Vir- <br />ginia, deems such an agreement necessary and entered into same <br />on September 29, 1970; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, certain particulars of that agreement must <br />be amended; <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE~ IT RESOLVED by the Council of the <br />City of Portsmouth, Virginia, that the terms and conditions of <br />a certain agreement between the cities of Chesapeake, Norfolk, <br />Portsmouth and Virginia Beach relating to intercity police co- <br />operation and jurisdiction as amended, a copy of which is at- <br />tached hereto, are hereby approved. <br /> <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Council of the City of <br />Portsmouth, Virginia, that the City Manager is hereby authorized <br />and directed to execute said agreement. <br /> <br /> Adopted by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Vir- <br />ginia, at meeting held May 8, 1973. <br /> <br />Teste: <br /> <br />City Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />
