32 A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORTSMOUTH AUTHOR- IZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A COOPERATION AGREEMENT WITH THE PORTSMOUTH REDEVELOPMENT AND HOUSING AUTHORITY FOR THE CRAWFORD REDEVELOPMENT PROJECT (VA R-53). ~HEREAS, the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, approved on August 8, 1967 a Redevelopment Plan for the Crawford Urban Renewal Project, VA R-53; and W~EREAS, the most recent amendment to said plan has been approved by the Portsmouth Redevelopment and Housing Author- ity and the Council of the City of Portsmouth on December 19, 1972; and WHEREAS, it is necessary for the City of Portsmouth to make assurances that it will make certain improvements er pay certain monies to satisfy its local grant-in-aid requirement to said Project; and WHEREAS, a Revised Cooperation Agreement, evidencing agreement between the Portsmouth Redevelopment and Housing Authority and the City of Portsmouth, has been preparedlwhich sets forth the City's financial responsibilities in the under- taking of said Project; and ?~EREAS, this Council has reviewed the proposed Revised Cooperation Agreement and has found the agreement to be|consistent with the requirements of the Crawford Urban Renewal Plan, as amended. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Revised Coop- eration Agreement for the Crawford Urban Renewal Pr~jeclt, VA. R-53, between the Portsmouth Redevelopment and Housing !Authority and the City of Portsmouth is hereby approved and the City Manager is authorized to execute on behalf of the City said Reuised Cooperation Agreement, and the City Clerk is directed ~o attest and affix the seal of the City to the same.
