~ RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING TtIE CITY MANAGER TO CONVEY LAND TO THE <br />VIRGINIA PORT AUTHORITY AND TO RECEIVE A RECONVEYANCE OF A SIMILAR <br />TRACT WITH CORRECTED BOUNDARIES. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Portsmouth and the Virginia Port <br />Authority entered into a certain agreement dated March 30, 1971, <br />with an addendum thereto dated March 30, 1972; and <br /> <br /> WHERE~S, section 10 of the said agreement required the <br />Virginia Port Authority to make property transfers in favor of <br />the City of Portsmouth under conditions specified therein; and <br /> <br /> ?~EREAS, the Virginia Port Authority on April 16, 1973 <br />conveyed a certain parcel of land to the City of Portsmouth pur- <br />suant to the hereinabove mentioned agreement; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, plans developed by the Virginia Department <br />of Highways necessitate alterations in the boundaries of the <br />aforementioned parcel; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the alteration in the boundaries can most <br />feasibly be accomplished through a conveyance of the said pro- <br />perty hereinabove mentioned by the City of Portsmouth to the <br />Virginia Port Authority and a subsequent reconveyance of a <br />properly described tract to the City of Portsmouth by the Virginia <br />Port Authority. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the <br />City of Portsmouth, Virginia, that the City Manager be, and <br />he hereby is, authorized to convey the following described pro- <br />perty to the Virginia Port Authority. <br /> <br /> That certain tract, piece or parcel of land <br />situate in the Pinners Point section of the City <br />of Portsmouth containing 24.053 acres by survey <br />made by Langley, McDonald and Overman, Consulting <br />Engineers, dated January 19, 1973, a plat of said <br />survey being attached hereto as Exhibit ky but <br />this property is conveyed in gross and not by <br />acreage, being more particularly bounded and <br />described as follows, to-wit: <br /> <br /> Beginning at the point of intersection of the <br />Northwestern right of way line of the Elizabeth <br />River Tunnel District with the Northern right of <br />way line of Seaboard Avenue Extended; thence <br />running Northwesterly along the arc of a curve to <br />the left, said curve having a radius of 470.74 <br />feet, a distance of 197.31 feet; thence running <br /> <br /> <br />
