73 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION AGP~EEING TO ACQUIRE AND FURNISH RIGHT OF WAY FOR <br />THE CONSTRUCTION OF AN EXTENSION TO SEAGUARD AVENUE (FORMERLY <br />KNOWN AS MOORVIEW AVENUE), SUCH RIGHT OF WAY TO BE PROVIDED <br />FOR AN ACCESS ROAD REQUIRED IN TRE CONSTRUCTION OF THE GREEN- <br />WOOD DRIVE INTERC~L~NGE, PROJECT0264-124-103-PE-101, C-501, <br />B-606. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the.construction of the Greenwood Drive <br />Interchange, Project 0264-124-103, PE-101, C-501, B-606 re- <br />quires the acquisition of. right of way for the construction <br />of an access road into certain property isolated by said inter- <br />change; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the State Highway Department will build <br />such interchange and said access road if the City of Portsmouth <br />agrees to acquire the right of way therefor and assures that <br />such access road will be maintained as a public right of way; <br />and <br /> WHEREAS, the agreement concerning the construction of <br />the interchange and said access road requires also that the City <br />of Portsmouth agree to remove, at City expense, the existing <br />railroad crossing of the Seaboard Coast Line Railroad located <br />approximately 300 feet southwest of Greenwood Drive upon the <br />completion of the construction of the proposed access road. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the <br /> City of Portsmouth, Virginia, that it does hereby agree to ac- <br /> quire needed right of way for the extension of Seaguard Avenue <br /> (formerly known as Moorview Avenue), and that it further agrees <br /> to maintain such extended access road as a public right of way <br /> and that it will remove at its expense the existing railroad <br /> crossing of the Seaboard Coast Line Railroad located approxi- <br /> mately 300 feet southwest of Greenwood Drive upon the completion <br /> of the proposed extended Seaguard Avenue (formerly known as Moor- <br /> view Avenue), all the foregoing being in consideration of the <br /> construction by the State Highway Department of the extended <br /> access road to certain property isolated by the construction <br /> of the Greenwood Drive Interchange, Project 0264-124-103, PE-101, <br /> C-501, B-606. <br /> Adopted by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Vir- <br /> ginia, at a meeting held August 14, 1973. <br /> <br />Teste: <br /> <br />City Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />
