71 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION GR~ING A USE PEP~IT FOR THE OPERATION OF A S~NITARI~ ON' <br />NOFfffH SIDE OF HIGH STREET ~ CHESTNUT STR~f. <br /> <br /> ~REAS, Sophia Hor~stein and the Estate of Nathan Cohen have made <br />application pursuant to Section 4-2 of the Zoning OrdLnance of the City of <br />Portsmouth, 1972, for the granting of a use permit as hereinafter described; <br />and <br /> <br /> '~F~u~S, the applicants and the Planning Director have co~wpleted <br />all transactions required to be acco,~plished in connection with said appli- <br />cation, and the Planning Commission has recommended that such per~it be <br />granted. <br /> <br /> NOW, ~HEREFORE, BE IT RESOLV~ by the Council of the City of Ports- <br />mouth, Virginia: <br /> <br /> A. That the use for which the use permit hereinafter described is <br />sought (1) will not adversely affect the health or safety of persons residing <br />or working in the neighborhood of the proposed use, (2) that it will not be <br />detrimental to the public welfare, snd (3) that it ~11 be in accord with <br />the purposes of said Zoning Ordinance. <br /> <br /> B. That Sophia Hornstein and the Estate of Nathan Cohen be granted <br />a use permit subject to site plan restrictions, pursuant to Section 4-2 of <br />said Zoning Ordinance for the operation of a sanitarium located on the pro- <br />perry described as follows: <br /> <br /> Beginning on the north side of High Street approxi- <br />mately 63 feet west of its ~ntersection with Chestnut <br />Street; thence west along ~[igh Street approximately 50 <br />feet to a side proper~y line; thence north along said <br />line approximately 100 feet to a point; thence east <br />approximately 50 feet to a side property line; thence <br />south along said line appro~tely 100 feet to the <br />point of origin. <br /> <br /> Adopted by the Cotmcil of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, at a <br />meeting held August 13, 197~. <br /> <br />Teste: <br /> <br />city Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />
