A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE STATE HIGHWAY DEPARTMENT TO COM- <br />~ENCE PRELIMINARY ENGINEERING STUD~S CON~E~NIN~ T~IAT PORTION <br />OF THE ?~STERN FRE~AY IRT. 164) FROM BAYVIEW BOULEVARD TO <br />HARBOR DRIVE. <br /> <br /> ~%iEREAS~ it is the sense of ~b~ Council ~f the City <br />of Portsmou%h~ \~irginia~ that the construction of the Western <br />Freeway and par%icu!arly that portion from Bayview Boulevard <br />to Harbor Drive would be of great benefi~ to the citizens of <br />Portsmouth; and <br /> <br /> WHERF~S~ preliminary engineering studies are re- <br />quired in order to com-~ence such project° <br /> <br /> NOW~ THEREPORE BE IT RESOLVED by th~ Council of the <br />City of Portsmouth~ Virginia, that it hereby requests the State <br />Highway Department to commence preliminary engineering studies <br />concerning that portlon of the Western Freeway (Rt. i6~) pro- <br />posed for construction from Ba~vie~ Boulevard, to Harbor Drive. <br /> <br /> BE IT FURT~ER RESOLVED that the City of Portsmouth <br />shall pay fifteen percent (15%) of the costs of such pre!i- <br /> <br /> Adopted by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, <br />Virginia, at a meeting held July 2~, 1973. <br /> <br />Teste: <br /> <br />City Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />
