initial appointees for the City of Nor- <br />folk shall serve for a term of three (3) <br />years; <br /> <br />The initial appointee~for the City of Ports- <br />mouth shall serve for a te~m of two (2) years; <br /> <br />The initial appointee for the City of Suffolk <br />shall serve for a term of three (3) years; <br /> <br />One initial appointee for the City of Vir- <br />ginia Beach shall serve for a term of one <br />(1) y~ar, and one (1) initial appointee for the <br />City of Virginia Beach shall serve for a term <br />of three (3) years; <br /> <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that at all <br />(1) member for the City of Norfolk shall be a <br />the medical profession; and <br /> <br />times at least one <br />licensed member of <br /> <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the second required licensed <br />member of the medical profession shall be initially named by the <br />City Council of the City of Portsmouth; however, upon the terminationj <br />expiration or vacation of such initial or successivm term or terms <br />of such initial appointee, all subsequent appointments of the re- <br />quired second member of the medical profession shall '~ <br /> Db filled by <br />rotating such appointment among the several cities (other than the <br />City of Norfolk) on an alnhabetica~ basis from "Chesapeake" to <br /> lrglnla Beach", the City of Pcrtsmouth to ~e omitted from the in- <br />itial rotation; nothing in this Resolution shall be deemed to pre- <br />vent any c!ty from appointing a licensed member of the medics!-pro- <br />fession as its representative whether or not such city is required <br />by the terms of this Resolution to n~e such a physician member in <br />accordance with the established plan of rotation; and it is further <br />agreed that so long as there are at least two (2) licensed members <br />of the medical profession serving on-the Authority~ the required <br />plan for rotation of appointments of licensed members of the med- <br />ical profession shall be suspended. <br /> <br />BE iT FURTHER RESOLVED, that this Resolution ~hai~ b~-~ <br />effective when it shall have been approved by the City Councils cf <br />the Cities of Chesapeake, v ~ <br /> -~ampton, Norfolk Portsmouth, Suffolk and <br />Virginia Beach. , <br /> <br /> Ad6Dted by the~Council of the City of Portsmou%l%, V'!rg~nia,' ' <br />at a meeting ~.-e!d F~ay 27 1975. <br /> <br />Teste: <br /> <br /> <br />
