38 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION RECOGNIZING AND HONORING POLICE AUXILIARY SERGEANT <br />HORACE E. JENKINS ON HIS RETIREMENT FROM THE AUXILIARY POLICE <br />AFTER MORE THAN 20 YEARS SERVICE. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Auxiliary Sergeant Horace E. Jenkins has <br />served effectively on the Police Auxiliary of the City of <br />Portsmouth, Virginia, for 20 years, with an unblemished re- <br />cord; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council recognizes that dedicated <br />and unselfish service to the City; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Sergeant Jenkins retired from active duty <br />in the Auxiliary on March 31, 1975, at the age of sixty-two <br />years. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of <br />the City of Portsmouth~ Virginia, that this Council recognizes <br />and honors PoliCe Auxiliary Sergeant Horace E. Jenkins on his <br />retirement from the Auxiliary Police after more than 20 years <br />service. <br /> <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution <br />be spread upon the minutes of the City Council; and that a copy <br />be presented to Auxiliary Sergeant Horace E. Jenkins as a token <br />of esteem in which he is held by the Council and the citizens <br />of the City of.
