31 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION EXPRESSING THE STRONG CONCERN OF T~E CITY COUNCIL <br />FOR THE POTENTIAL POLLUTION OF THE WATER SUPPLY SYSTEM OF THE <br />CITY BECAUSE OF THE CONDITION OF THE BOSTON AREA OF THE CITY <br />OF SUFFOLK; REQUESTING THE CITY OF SUFFOLK TO TAKE WHATEVER <br />ACTION IS NECESSARY TO ELIMINATE SUCH POTENTIAL POLLUTION <br />PROBLEM. <br /> <br /> W~EREAS, the West Side Civic League and the concerned <br />Citizen's Committee of the Boston area of the City of Suffolk have <br />appeared this date~before the Council and having shown evidence <br />of contamination in the area of Lake Mead, a part of the City <br />of Portsmouth water supply system. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the <br />City of Portsmouth, Virginia that the Council expresses its <br />Strong concern for the potential pollution problem to the water <br />supply system of the City because of the condition of the Boston <br />area of the City of Suffolk. <br /> <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council requested <br />the City of Suffolk to take whatever action is necessary to <br />eliminate such potential pollution problem. <br /> <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Clerk is dir- <br />ected to forward this resolution to the City Manager of the <br />City of Suffolk. <br /> <br /> Adopted by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, <br />Virginia, at a meeting held April 8, 1975. <br /> <br />Teste: <br /> <br />City Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />
