15 A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORTSMOUTH, APPROVING THE AMENDMENT OF THE ARTICLES OF INCORPORATION OF THE SOUTHEAST- ERN WATER AUTHORITY OF VIRGINIA SO AS TO CHANGE ITS NAME TO SOUTHEASTERN PUBLIC SERVICE AUTHORITY OF VIRGINIA, TO CHANGE THE LOCATION OF ITS PRINCIPAL OFFICE, AND TO EXPAND ITS PURPOSES TO INCLUDE A GARBAGE AND REFUSE COLLECTION AND DISPOSAL SYSTEM AND SETTING FORTH THE ARTICLES OF AMENDMENT. WHEREAS, the Cities of Chesapeake, Franklin, Norfolk, Portsmouth, Suffolk and Virginia Beach and the Counties of Isle of Wight and Southampton have heretofore created the Southeast- ern Water Authority of Virginia, pursuant to the Virginia Water and Sewer Authorities Act (Chapter 28, Title 15.1, Code of Vir- ginia, 1950, as amended) (the Act) to provide a water system to serve the needs of the participating political subdivisions; and WHEREAS, the aforesaid political subdivisions desire to amend the Articles of Incorporation of the Authority so as to change its name and the location of its principal office and to expand its purposes to include a garbage and refuse collection and disposal system; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia: Section 1. The Council of the City of Portsmouth, approves ~he amendment of the Articles of Incorporation of the Southeastern Water Authority of Virginia so as to chan~e its name, the location of its principal office, and the purpose for which it was created as set forth in the Articles of Amend- ment in Section 2 hereof. Section 2. The Articles of Amendment of the South- eastern Water Authority of Virginia shall be as follows: ARTICLES OF AMENDMENT OF THE SOUTHEASTERN WATER AUTHORITY OF VIRGINIA The Councils of the Cities of Chesapeake, Franklin~ Norfolk, Portsmouth~ Suffolk and Virginia BeaCh and the Boards of Supervisors of the Counties of Isle of Wiqht and Southampton by concurrent resolution have adopted the following amendments
