A RESOLUTION URGING THE CONGRESS OF T~ UNITED STATES TO ADOPT <br />H.R. 9560, ~ENDMENTS TO THE WATER POLLUTION CONTROL ACT. <br /> <br /> ~nR~AS~ theuongre~s~ " - of the United States is to be- <br />gin consideration on June 2, 1976, of amendments to the Water <br />Pollution Control Act designated as H.R. 9560; and, <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Portsmouth is directly affected <br />by provisions of said amendments providing for construction <br />grants for wastewater treatment works and extensions of the <br />deadline for meeting water quality standards; and, <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Portsmouth will als0 be affected <br /> by the provisions of said amendments relating to the funding of <br /> area-wide waste treatment management planning programs. <br /> <br /> NOW, TEEP~FORE~ BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the <br />City of Portsmouth, ~irginia, that the Congress of the United <br />~States is'u~ged to adopt~he amendments %o ~he water Pollution <br />Control Act embodied in H.R. 9560. <br /> <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City 'clerk bef ~nd he <br />. . hereby is,'~instructed to forward a c0py 0f this Resolution to <br />each membe~ of the virginia Delega~io~ to t~e Coh~ress Of ~he <br /> United States.
