A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE SCHOOL BOARD OF TEE CITY OF PORTS- <br />MOUTH TO MAKE APPLICATION FOR, RECEIVE AND EXPEND FUNDS FROM <br />FEDERAL, STATE AND OTHER AGENCIES NOT PRESENTLY BUDGETED IN <br />THE 1978-79 BUDGET; DIRECTING THE SCHOOD BOARD TO REPORT <br />RECEIPT AND EXPENDITURE OF SUCH FUNDS TO THE CITY MANAGER. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, educational funds from a variety of governmental <br />~genc±es become available during the fiscal year; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, in many occasions, priority of funding is based <br />upon time appIication. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the <br />City of Portsmouth that the School Board of the City of Ports- <br />mouth is authorized to make application for, receive and <br />expend, funds from federal, state and other governmental agencies <br />not presently, budgeted in the 1978-79 school budget. <br /> <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Superintendent of Schools <br /> is directed to advise the City Manager of the total sum received <br />and expended. <br /> <br /> This resolution shall be effective from the date of its <br />adoption. <br /> <br /> Adopted <br />at a-meeting <br /> <br />by the Council <br />held August 8, <br /> <br />of the City of Port'smouth, Virginiat <br />1978. <br /> <br />Teste: <br /> <br />City Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />
