5O <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION APPOINTING VIEWERS FOR CLOSING THE FOLLOWING <br />STREET: A PORTION OF NE?~ORT AVENUE. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Surry Associates have made application ~o vacate, <br />close and discontinue the hereinafter-described portion of a <br />certain street, and it appearing that Notice of Application <br />and request for the appointment of viewers was duly posted <br />July 17, 1978,.on the bulletin board ~f the General District <br />Court, Civil Division, of the City of Portsmouth, the bulletin <br />board of the Circuit Court of the City of Portsmouth, and the <br />bulletin board of the City Hall of the City of Portsmouth. <br /> <br /> NOW, 'THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City <br />of Portsmouth, Virginia, that Frank N. Bilisoly, John H. Griffin, <br />Charles R. Hudgins, R. Irvin Smith, A. N. Kendrick be appointed <br />viewers and Richard D. Ottavio be appointed an alternate viewer <br />in the event one of the preceding viewers fail to participate~ <br />said viewers to view the hereinafter described portion of <br />such street and to report to this Council in writing whether <br />in their opinion any, and if any, what inconvenience would <br />result in vacating and closing the following: <br /> <br />NEWPORT AVENUE <br /> <br /> Begmnning at the southeast intersection <br />of High Street and Newport Avenue and from <br />thence running east along the south side of <br />High Street 60 feet; thence south and parallel <br />with Newport Avenue 208 feet to Meander Road; <br />thence westerly along Meander Road to Newport <br />Avenue; and thence north along Newport Avenue <br />176 feet more or less to the Point of Beginning. <br /> <br /> Adopted by <br />at a meeting held August 8, 1978. <br /> <br />the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, <br /> <br />Teste: <br /> <br />City Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />
