39 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION ENDORSING THE CONCEPT OF JOINT ENDEAVORS BET?~EN <br />THE PORTSMOUTH SCHOOL BOARD AND THE PORTSMOUT~ P~-RKS AND <br />RECREATION CO~4iSSION TO ASSURE A POLICY OF ~XIMUM UTILIZATION <br />OF PUBLIC FACILITIES FOR APPROPRIATE CON. UNITY PURPOSES. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Portsmouth School Board and the Portsmouth <br />Parks Amd Recreation Commission have approved a resolution <br />endorsing the policy of maximin utilization of school and <br />recreational facilities for appropriate community purposes; <br />and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, such resolutions established a joint committee <br />to meet on a regular basis to review the progress and the <br />implementation of such policy; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Portsmouth is sup- <br />portative of such efforts to assure maximum utilization of <br />facilities to assure the extension of services to the public <br />at the lowest possible cost to the taxpayer. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Council of the <br />City of Portsmouth, Virginia, endorses the concept of joint <br />endeavors between the Portsmouth School Board and the Ports- <br />mouth Parks And Recreation Commission to assure the maximum <br />utilization of publicly owned facilities for appropriate <br />community purposes at the lowest possible cost to the taxpayer. <br /> <br /> Adopted by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, <br />at a meeting held May 13, 1980. <br /> <br />Teste: <br /> <br />City Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />
