75 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY ~4ANAGER TO CONVEY CITY-OWNED <br />PROPERTY TO THE FIRST CHURCH OF THE NAZARENE (~IGHLAND BILTMORE <br />COMMUNITY CENTER). <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, by motion adopted by the Council of the City of <br />Portsmouth, Virginia, on September 9, 1980, the City Manager <br />was authorized to advertise and receive bids for the sale of <br />the hereinafter-described property; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the only proposal received for said property <br />was from the First Church of the Nazarene; which proposal <br />offered to purchase said property for the sum of Six Thousand <br />Dollars ($6,000.) and to use 'the improvements existing on <br />said property by renovating the same and using it for a <br />Church Fellowship Building and Sunday ScD~ooi space as needed <br />if renovation of the building is possible for a reasonable <br />expense or if renovation is too expensive, then the improve- <br />ments will be demolished and the area will be used for off- <br />street parking purposes; and <br /> <br /> ~EREAS, said property is no longer needed by the City <br />of Portsmouth and is hereby declared to be surplus. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the <br />City of Portsmouth, Virginia, that the City Manager be, and <br />he hereby is, authorized to convey the following described <br /> roDerty to the First Church of the Nazarene for the sum of <br />Six Thousand ($6,000.) Dollars eonditioned upon the use of <br />the property as specified in the proposal of the First Church <br />of the Nazaren~ dated September 15, 1980: <br /> <br /> Ail that certain Tot, piece or parcel of <br />land, situate, lying and bein~ in the City of <br />Portsmouth, Virginia, with the improvements <br />thereon, bounded and described as follows: <br /> <br /> Beginning at a point on %he north side <br />of ROse Avenue, said point being 172' east from <br />the northeast intersection of Rose ~venue and <br />Deep Cree~ Boulevard; thence running east along <br />the north side of Rose Avenue 62' to a point; <br />thence north and perpe~dicular to Rose ~venue <br />103.5' to a point; thence west and parallel with <br />Rose Avenue 62' to a point; thence south 103.5' <br />to the Point of Beginning on the north side of <br />Rose Avenue. <br /> <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Manager be, and he <br />hereby is~ au~horlzed to complete all transactions and execute <br />all documents incident to ~uch conveyance. <br /> <br /> Adbpted by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, <br />at a meeting held September 23, 1980. <br /> <br />Teste: <br /> <br />City Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />
