65 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO CONVEY CITY-O~NED <br />PROPERTY TO THE PORTSMOUTH REDEVELOPMENT AND HOUSING AUTHORITY <br />(CRA~ORD PAR~AY AND WASHINGTON STREET, OLDE TOWNE PROJECT, <br />BLOCK 16, PARCEL 1). <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Portsmouth owns certain hereinafter- <br />described real property which is no longer needed by the City <br />and it is, therefore, declared to be surplus property; and <br /> <br /> I~EREAS, the Portsmouth Redevelopment And Housing Authority <br />desires to obtain title to the hereinafter-described property <br />for the purpose of negotiating the development thereof with a <br />private developer for a proposed townhouse project; and <br /> <br /> WI~EREAS, the assessed value of said property is One Hundred <br />Twenty-four Thousand, Six Hundred Forty Dollars ($124,640.); <br />and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Section 2.09(c) of the Charter of the City of <br />Portsmouth provides that the City may convey property to the <br />Commonwealth of Virginia or any political subdivision thereof <br />without advertisement and without receiving bids; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Portsmouth Redevelopment and Housing Authority <br />is a ~olitical subdivision of the Commonwealth of Virginia. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City <br />of Portsmouth, Virginia, that the City Manager be, and he hereby <br />is, authorized to convey the following described property to <br />the Portsmouth Redevelopment and Housing Authority: <br /> <br /> Ail that certain lot, piece or parcel <br />of land, situate, lying and being in the City <br />of Portsmouth, Virginia, bounded and described <br />as follows: <br /> <br /> Beginning at a point which is the south- <br />west intersection of Crawford Parkway and <br />Dinwiddie Street and from said point running <br />S 39 41' 47" east 135.97' to a point; thence <br />S 87° 22' 50" west 99.87' to a point; thence <br />S 3° 41' 47" east 179.93' to a point; thence <br />S 87° 05' 17" west 260.31' to a point on the <br />east right-of-way of Washington Street; thence <br />along the east right-of-way of Washington Street <br />N 3° 27' 23" west 148.51' to a point; thence <br />N 86° 32' 37" east 90.00' to a point; thence <br />N 3° 27' 23" wes~ 93.48' to a point on the <br />southern right-of-way of Crawford Parkway; <br />thence along the southern right of way of <br />Crawford Parkway S 87° 05' east 270.51' to <br />the Point of Beginning. <br /> <br /> <br />
