WHEREAS, in the judgment of this CouncilL it is in the <br />interest of the City and its inhabitants that the said Plan <br />be approved. <br /> <br /> THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of <br />Portsmouth: <br /> <br /> i. That it is hereby deemed appropriate and in the <br />public interest that a conservation program be carried out <br />in the Truxtun neighborhood within the boundaries described <br />the Truxtun Conservation Plan. <br /> <br />in <br /> <br /> 2. That it is hereby found and determined that the <br />Plan for the project area wi~t' ~fford m~xi~um opportunity, <br />consistent with the needs of the City of Portsmouth as a <br />whole, for the conservation of the area and the Project qualifies <br />as an eligible Conservation Project under Title 36 of the Code <br />of Virginia, 1950, as amended. <br /> <br /> 3. That, in order to implement and facilitate the <br />effectuation of the Plan, this Council hereby (a) pledges <br />its cooperation in the execution of the P!an~ (b) requests <br />the various officials, departments, boards and agencies of <br />the City of Portsmouth having administrative responsibilities <br />likew±se to cooperate to such end and to exercise their re- <br />spective functions and powers in a manner consistent with <br />the Plan; (~) acknowledges that conservation measures and <br />other activities described within the Plan will be carried <br />out in accordance with availability of funds; and (d) stands <br />ready to consider and take appropriate action upon proposals <br />and measures designed to effectuate the Plan. <br /> <br /> 4. That the Plan for the Project, having been duly <br />reviewed and considered, is hereby approved, and the City <br />Clerk be, and is hereby directed to file said copy of the Plan <br />with the minutes of this meeting. <br /> <br /> Adopted by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, <br />a~ a meeting held June 9, 1981. <br /> <br />Teste: <br /> <br />City Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />
