WHEREAS, in the judgment of this CouncilL it is in the interest of the City and its inhabitants that the said Plan be approved. THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth: i. That it is hereby deemed appropriate and in the public interest that a conservation program be carried out in the Truxtun neighborhood within the boundaries described the Truxtun Conservation Plan. in 2. That it is hereby found and determined that the Plan for the project area wi~t' ~fford m~xi~um opportunity, consistent with the needs of the City of Portsmouth as a whole, for the conservation of the area and the Project qualifies as an eligible Conservation Project under Title 36 of the Code of Virginia, 1950, as amended. 3. That, in order to implement and facilitate the effectuation of the Plan, this Council hereby (a) pledges its cooperation in the execution of the P!an~ (b) requests the various officials, departments, boards and agencies of the City of Portsmouth having administrative responsibilities likew±se to cooperate to such end and to exercise their re- spective functions and powers in a manner consistent with the Plan; (~) acknowledges that conservation measures and other activities described within the Plan will be carried out in accordance with availability of funds; and (d) stands ready to consider and take appropriate action upon proposals and measures designed to effectuate the Plan. 4. That the Plan for the Project, having been duly reviewed and considered, is hereby approved, and the City Clerk be, and is hereby directed to file said copy of the Plan with the minutes of this meeting.
