38 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION APPOINTING VIEWERS FOR THE CLOSING OF A PORTION <br />OF CHARLESTON AVENUE. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Walter J. Carter, Sr. and Thelma J. Carter have <br />made application to .vacate, close and discontinue the hereinafter- <br />described portion of Charleston Avenue, and it appearing that <br />notice of application and request for the appointment of viewers <br />was duly posted on the 7th day of May, 1981, on the bulletin <br />board of the Circuit Court of the City of Portsmouth, the <br />General District Court (Civil Division) of the City of Ports- <br />mouth and the City Hall Building of the City of Portsmouth. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the <br />City of Portsmouth, Virginia, 'that A. N. Kendrick, Henry P. <br />CroWe, J. R. Wilkerson, Belvin W. Blachman and Frank N. Bilisoly, <br />be appointed viewers and that James Moss be appointed an alter- <br />nate viewer in the event one of the preceding viewers fails to <br />Participate, said viewers to view the hereinafter-described <br />portion of such street and to report to this Council in writing <br />whether in their opinion any, and if any, what inconvenience <br />would result in vacating and closing the following: <br /> <br />CHARLESTON AVENUE <br /> <br /> A 10' portion or strip of Charles~0n Avenue <br />which is the eastern most 10' of the right-of-way <br />of Charleston Avenue beginning on the south side <br />of Watts Avenue (formerly Maupin Avenue) and run- <br />ning back between parallel lines the width of ~10' <br />in a southerly direction to the terminus of said <br />CharlesTON Avenue, said 10' strip being contiguous <br />to the property of Walter Jo Carter, Sr. and The!ma <br />J.
